A press release was issued today through Business Wire about Register.com and SnapNames.com Renew Exclusive Agreement for Domain Name Auction Services.

Register.com and SnapNames.com had an exclusive deal that came up for renewal and they agreed to extend the relationship. Domain names which are registered with Register.com but surrendered by their previous registrants are made available exclusively on the SnapNames auction platform.

From the release and summarized by the CEO of Register.com “We’ve been a long-standing partner with SnapNames for aftermarket services,” said Register.com CEO Larry Kutscher. “SnapNames was the first company to offer an organized aftermarket platform for buying and selling domain names. It consistently provides excellent service to its partners and customers and has a great reputation for transparency and performance. Because of these factors, we wanted to continue that productive relationship.”

Looks like a productive relationship for them, for the rest of us I am not so sure.
